Does any of this sound familiar?
Quietly racing, working harder than everyone else just to keep up.
Unsure why things seem easy for others, and so much effort for you.
Time is an issue — so is staying organised, and focused.
The next bright shiny thing has to happen now, then the next, and the next...
It can seem like no-one else has the same level of chaos in their head as you do.
There is often a biochemical reason for this — and it can usually be helped.
Have you spent years feeling different to those around you — and blaming yourself for this, even though it feels beyond your control?
Are you secretly struggling to keep up with life — and burning out?
Is anxiety or anger an unwelcome part of your, or your child's, daily life?
Do you, or your child, feel awkward, stressed and out of step at school, uni, work, or socially, despite trying really hard?
Have you been carrying quiet shame or self-doubt about potential symptoms of ADHD, with late-night searches, ticking boxes and a sinking heart?
It can be how you were, from the time you were born. Parenting is usually not to blame either...
Genetics often play an important role — not only our inheritance from parents, but from many ancestors on both sides of the family.
Your brain relies on nutrients — amino acids, vitamins and minerals — to produce the natural chemicals which fuel our focus, mood and behaviour.
Targeted nutritional supplements are needed to correct the inborn, biochemical imbalances which can result from our genetics.
And no, this isn't about changing your diet!
When your unique genetic patterns interrupt your ability to keep your biochemistry in balance, symptoms can follow.
Difficulty Focusing or Concentrating
Poor Memory While Studying
Reading Problems
Hyperactivity and Impulsivity
Chronic Anxiety
Anger and Rage Outbursts
Antisocial Behaviour
Sometimes a traumatic event can trigger off the expression of our genetic tendencies, which may have laid dormant until that time.
Being biochemically in balance can help to enhance the results achieved through therapy — and make both therapy and the rest of life easier — because you are not fighting against your genetics.
GBT may be a good fit if you are:
An adult who has been diagnosed with, or suspects you may be experiencing, symptoms of ADHD.
A parent or carer of a child (7 years or older) who has been diagnosed with, or you suspect may be experiencing, symptoms of ADHD or a Behaviour Disorder.
An adult or child with family members who have ADHD or a Behaviour Disorder.
Move from "what's wrong with me?" to "now I understand why."
Feel like you're keeping up — instead of always working twice as hard.
Let go of fighting an uphill battle against your own biology.
Support your body and brain with what they actually need.
Feel more like your true self again — calm, capable, successful and confident.
Since starting her GBT, this lovely young woman has gone from experiencing multiple outbursts of anger and rage several times a day, to just a couple a week.
She has also become more regular with her school attendance.
She had a full week of attendance soon after starting her treatment, for the first time in a long time.
Her mother's comments:
"I could definitely tell the difference... It was pretty amazing..."

33 years ago I worked as a Naturopathic Herbalist, so I already understand — and deeply respect — how much of a difference nutritional balance can make.
I also have first-hand experience of how horrible it feels when your own biochemistry is working against you.
While working as a Natural Fertility Management Consultant, I helped many new parents prepare for a healthy pregnancy and child, using nutrition to minimise genetic imperfections and support the health of both parent and baby.
For the past 11 years, my focus has been on emotional health — using world-class body-mind techniques for safe, gentle trauma resolution.
My most recent area of study has deepened my understanding of how genetics shapes our nutritional status, and therefore our neurotransmitters.
Some clients I see for therapy are fighting against their own biology...
With more than 70 years of research behind it, by eminent physicians such as Dr Abram Hoffer, Dr Carl Pfeiffer and Dr William Walsh, I'm proud to now offer Genetic Behaviour Therapy as part of a wholistic approach to your wellbeing.
Held in-person or online, so I can understand your, or your child's, unique history and current challenges and symptoms. Click here to book.
After booking an Initial Session, a link to your GBT Health Form will be emailed to you. It is best completed at least 48 hours prior to the Initial Session. This helps to build a comprehensive picture of your individual biochemistry.
To uncover exactly what your body needs — and what it doesn't. These tests are ordered when needed and appropriate, after your Initial Session.
Over several months, while taking the nutrients prescribed specifically for you, we will connect via brief follow-up sessions, to monitor your progress and to fine-tune your dosages over time.
・Note: GBT can be used on its own, or alongside medication and/or therapy — giving you flexibility to optimise your quality of life.
Your brain is a 24-hour chemical factory. It is constantly producing serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine and other "neurotransmitters" — the chemical messengers behind your mood, focus and behaviour.
We each have around 21,000 genes and they can dramatically influence nutrient deficiencies and overloads in our body. Except for identical twins, no two people process nutrients in exactly the same way.
Many symptoms of ADHD and Behaviour Disorders are linked to a genetic or epigenetic predisposition affecting how the brain absorbs, stores or uses key nutrients to make neurotransmitters.
GBT works with your body, not against it — using natural nutrients your body already recognises to correct imbalances, which means fewer side effects than many medications.
As Dr Carl Pfeiffer's Law states: "For every drug that benefits a patient, there is a natural substance that can achieve the same effect."
Important: In many cases, if the underlying imbalances are left untreated, symptoms can worsen with age and time.
No. This therapy is about addressing sometimes severe imbalances which can occur due to genetics. Deficiencies and overloads of key nutrients can cause great problems for some people. In these cases, diet alone is not enough to re-establish biochemical balance. Nutritional supplements specific for the individual's needs are required to do this. A good diet helps; correcting severe imbalances is beyond the scope of food.
Yes. GBT can be used together with therapy and/or medication, giving you flexibility to find what works best for you or your child.
Because of genetic variations in how our bodies process food, some of us are deficient in some nutrients and have too much of others — even with a great diet. GBT identifies your specific imbalance, rather than guessing, and aims to balance it.
No. Nutrients that are already in overload need to be carefully avoided, as too much can cause its own problems. This is exactly why individual testing matters.
Not necessarily. This is for each individual to discover. GBT is designed as an adjunct — it can work alongside existing therapy and/or medication as part of a wholistic plan. If over time, it is found that using a minimal amount of medication is best, alongside GBT, then it would be sensible to continue them both. The aim is always to have each client feel the best they can.
This varies with different imbalances. Sometimes changes can be noticed within a week. Other imbalances take longer for changes to be noticed — 6 to 8 weeks. Some take even longer. It depends on your individual chemistry and imbalance/s.
There is no need to keep quietly wondering why you feel on the outer, or accepting "this is just how I am."
A calmer, more settled and biochemically-balanced way of being may be closer than you think!
A sense of belonging is a vital part of life, and wellbeing.
